Radio ARA: "the frequency of all colors" got new logo and new Studio-1 Print E-mail

What a couple of decades earlier was "the" renowned "pirate radio" of the grand-duchy of Luxembourg, is today certainly one of the outmost "city radios" of the greater region. If Radio ARA has become since 1992 a legal broadcasting station in the heart of the "upper town" it has not lost a dime of what conservative forces would call "being reverse".

Anyhow they do a great job, have a fantastic crew and keep on going "multi culti" offering as much languages as they have different country representatives within their means. You'll listen to the national language as well to lots of English broadcast stuff, but also funny and serious stuff in French and Italian. They offer even a large kind of experimental room for the youth, and in the afternoon the screwed up teenagers line up in their own playground called "Radio Graffiti". This is how the world is to be "On Air" in Luxembourg…

Now the reader would say: "so what, a radio station, we got that link, what do you think telling us as new?" Yes there is some news and they are relevant, because those volunteers not only do great job behind the mike's, they're doing well with their hands too. As material turns wake after a longer period of use, and as sometimes all of us need some renewal. So Radio ARA did not fix up the old "Studio-1" but made it a new one… a great one. Within this special thanks must go to master technician Jean Krips, who was assisted by many professionals for specific jobs. And they performed well as you may see on the pics…

Brand new Logo by A brand new studio might still not be enough to be "first hand" information for you? No problem we got more and this is especially for those folks that run around in the city and still have the old sight-logo of Radio ARA in mind. Those will now have to reset their eyes, cause there is a new one spreading wide. The idea of turning on into new age was performed during a thinking day in 2006. Quite a long time isn't it? But so what, as the outcome is highly positive and with a little help of good friends and the agency "Interpub" a fresh visual is givin' Radio ARA a new face, without disclaiming their "pirate" origins.

Inauguration with friends… and a gentleman minister…

Easy to imagine that where the youth and the "elderly" know how to stay tuned, there is such opportunity welcome to have "little" party in between friends. As some publicity can never harm, they also send invitation to the medias, who came for to look at the new studio and listen to what the "special" guest had to say. Yop… an induction needs a special guest… and so the Radio ARA team called up the Communication Minister Jean-Louis Schiltz. A gentleman minister who knows about the quality in many ways, this broadcasting station delivers in a daily manner.

He's pretty proud to notice, that even the pirates turned legal, even though the origins are kept and even more, because he stated that Radio ARA is one of the major actors for integration and social cohesion. By givin' the youth a specific role, without interfering in what they mean to be good stuff, they are the key of free expression, that sometimes might be understood as inconvenient… but yeah that's the way it's got to be. Jean-Louis Schiltz certainly admitted this sincerely. But listen to it by yourselves, he was with Ron Tuffel "live" on air (with lot of crazy guys staying around and two photographers making lot's of noise).

The journalist collective of Indymedia-Letzebuerg is proud to recommend this Radio-Station, that can be heard throughout the world, on internet (see links below), and for those that live around here, just get the bandwidth of your personal tuner fixed on FM 103.3 and/or 105.2. There is many of lots for everyone… and once discovered, you'll never stop listening. Radio ARA is the non scientific explanation why our world must have been born in a "big bang"… tune this up and enjoy
