La Fondation Abbé-Pierre vient de publier son rapport annuel sur l'état du mal-logement en France. 100 000 personnes n'ont pas d'autre domicile que la rue, 100 000 autres vivent sous une tente ou dans une caravane, 40 000 dans un cabanon qu'elles ont construit de leurs propres mains. 240 000 femmes et hommes survivent donc sans un véritable toit au-dessus de leur tête, dans des conditions particulièrement dramatiques. Mais le nombre de mal-logés qui s'entassent dans des taudis insalubres, dans des logements trop exigus, dépasse les trois millions. Et sur ces trois millions, il y a 600 000 enfants.

Immerhin rauschten die ökonomischen Eckdaten in den meisten Industriestaaten Ende 2008 und Anfang 2009 tiefer als je zuvor seit den Krisenjahrzehnten der ersten Hälfte des vorigen Jahrhunderts in den Keller. Doch in der Volksrepublik zeigte man sich davon wenig beeindruckt. Nach einem kurzen Stottern im vergangenen Winter faßte die chinessiche Wirtschaft schnell wieder Fuß und überbot 2009 mit 8,7 Prozent sogar einmal mehr das Wachstumssoll von acht Prozent.

Dashing across a dirt path, I narrowly miss a Thai security bike and arrive at the Noh Boe temporary refugee camp.
